Last week, a competition unifying three dance disciplines, acrobatic rock-n-roll, dance sport and breaking, took place in Sochi Olympic Park. The event titled Sochi Open was promoted by the Russian Federation of Dance Sports and Acrobatic Rock-n-Roll. The first qualification where crews from Russia and other countries faced each other was the Show. Saint Petersburg was represented by Top 9 Crew:
Then, 6 vs. 6 crew battles took place. In the first round Top 9 Crew went out against the Ruggeds from the Netherlands:
As part of Sochi Open the RFDSARNR Cup went down – the contest where crews from 7 federal districts took part representing three dance disciplines: breaking, boogie-woogie, dance sport. Each athlete had to give a short performance. The winner was found via the all-team rating. Each district crew included three bboys. The North-western Federal District was represented by Kosto, Tony Rock and Nord Diamond from Top 9:
Aside from crew competitions, 1 vs. 1 breaking battles were held. One bboy from each crew participated in this format. Top 9 Crew’s pick was bboy Robin.
